Check the care offered in Arizona

Start with the person who will assess you.

For care in Glendale, compare a visit in a clinic with care over a screen. Ask who will assess you in either setting.

A visit over a screen can be an option

Telehealth means care delivered from a distance, through a screen or another allowed remote method. [d]

Arizona does not demand an exam in the same room before every remote prescription, as of October 3, 2026. [a]

The exam must still meet your medical needs. Rules for the exact medicine still apply. A remote service may still need to see you in a room. [a]

Ask where an in-person examination would happen if the person treating you needs one.

Your location matters during a remote visit

As of October 3, 2026, Arizona lets some health professionals licensed in other states register to treat people here from a distance. [b]

They must meet Arizona’s terms for registration and care. That registration does not allow in-person care without an Arizona licence. [b]

Ask: “What licence, Arizona telehealth registration or other legal permission authorizes your care when I am in Arizona?” Ask for the name and number on that record.

Ask the Arizona board for that profession to explain a permission you cannot confirm. If you travel, tell the person treating you before the next visit.

Consent means agreeing after an explanation

As of October 3, 2026, Arizona usually calls for informed consent before remote care. That means agreeing after the care is explained. [a]

If you agree out loud, the person treating you must make a note of your consent. Privacy rights still apply. Visit notes go in your medical record. [a]

Ask how to obtain your visit notes, then how to contact the person caring for you after the visit.

A clinic name is not the licence check

As of October 3, 2026, many private care offices do not need a separate Arizona health-facility licence. Some types of care and sites are exceptions. [c]

The person treating you must still follow their licence rules and the medical standards for assessing and treating patients. [c]

Ask for that person’s name and licence type. Check the person through the Arizona board for their profession.
